We do not wish to trespass unduly on your
valuable time through even briefly reiterating the points
in dispute, and suffice it to say that since our Company
in Hongkong, likewise the Parent Company and its subsidiary
companies in various other parts of the World, have met with,
in most cases, instantaneous success in the various markets
which fall within the territory of their respective agreements,
it does seem rather strange that success through participation
in a part of the local requirements in Hongkong, has been
denied us.
The good results which have been obtained
throughout the world are surely, in themselves, a sufficient
testimonial to the good results which have been ob ta ined
through using a Cold Emulsion, and we are strongly of the opinion
that, so far as the question applies to the local Authorities,
it is time that some investigation of the whole position in
Hongkong should be made, with a view to ascertaining the actual
cause of what we maintain has been more or less obvious prejudice.
We are of the opinion that you will be able to gather from the
enclosed copy correspondence the reasons which have compelled
us to come to the only conclusion that it has been little short
of prejudice which has prevented a consummation of business with
the local Authorities. In the original stages, the objection
was more in the matter of price, with little comment as regards
the quality, and subsequently, when our price was reduced to a
very low figure, it was then more a question of quality than
price. These two points alone have been very pronounced,
